The Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Saturday threatened to use military force to expel Parliament from Yemen's province of Hadhramaut.

The speaker and members of Parliament arrived in Seiyun city on Tuesday with the intention of resuming the parliamentary sessions.

But the pro-separation council has said it is opposing that and threatened to prevent it from happening in the south.

In a statement on Twitter, the chairman the UAE-backed council's General Assembly Ahmed bin Breik branded the government and Parliament and their allies as mercenaries. He indicated that the STC will not hesitate to use force against them

The Yemeni government is in exile in Riyadh and it cannot return to Yemen where the Houthi group dominates the north and the separatists have strong presence in the south.
