Yemen's pro-government Parliament on Wednesday resumed its activities in Seiyun city of Hadhramaut province, the state-run Saba News Agency said.

The agency indicated that the Parliament's Secretariat General conducted its first meeting, and it will make the needed arrangement next weeks to create a good atmosphere for the resumption of the Parliament sessions.

In 2019, the Parliament held a few meetings in Hadramout, but it stopped due to security concerns and political instability. Members of Parliament in Yemen have been divided since the Houthi takeover of power in 2015. Some continue to be part of the Houthi-controlled Parliament in Sanaa, while others defected and joined the UN-recognized Yemeni government.
